Jayco’s Talon ZX™ Sport Utility Trailer Caters to a New Generation of Outdoor Enthusiasts

September 3, 2004

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. - The 2005 Talon ZX from Jayco® provides an ideal base of operation for today’s outdoor adventurer. With six models in this year’s line-up – three travel trailers and three fifth wheels – the Talon ZX is a secure transporter for off-road “toys” that’s sturdy enough to handle rough terrain. New for 2005 are a 32-foot triple-axle travel trailer and a 35-foot fifth wheel with a bedroom slideout.

The tailgate, featuring a unique spring-hinge system, drops down to provide a lightweight, yet sturdy loading ramp. The ramp, which has a capacity rating of 2500 lbs., features non-skid surfaces and “beaver tail” transition to keep ATVs or motorcycles with low ground clearance from bottoming out during loading or unloading.

Jayco outfitted the cargo bay in the Talon ZX to accommodate a variety of vehicles, like ATVs, dirt bikes, motorcycles and snowmobiles. Two extra D-rings have been added in 2005 models, for a
total of eight, to ensure extra secure tie-down. For added convenience, two swing-arm work lights have been added in the cargo area – one on the sidewall and one near the ramp. Jayco has also added a handy external water hose with sprayer to help enthusiasts clean up their toys after a day of fun. And, all Talon ZX models are 102” in width; this “wide-body” design provides more than enough space to stow ATVs side-by-side.

Hefty 5/8-inch seamless Structurwood® flooring with non-skid finish is standard on all models. The cargo area features a spray-on
Durafloor liner that provides extra protection from wear and tear.

Talon ZX models provides comfortable accommodations for the entire crew. Living quarters offer all amenities, including kitchen, dining, bathroom and sleeping areas. For additional sleeping accommodations, a pull-down bed in the cargo area and hide-a-bed units are available. Two available interior décor color schemes round out the comfortable crew area.

One of Jayco’s most popular available options for the Talon ZX is the on-board fuel station. Its 25-gallon tank fuels lots of off-road thrills. That fuel station tank is separate from the 25-gallon generator fuel tank since many owners prefer to use premium gasoline in their “toys”.

The Customer Value Package includes many conveniences, such as an air compressor with three-gallon holding tank and 20-foot hose; insulated holding tanks, stabilizer jacks, microwave oven, and much more. An optional screen wall covers the ramp opening to let breezes in and keep bugs out. Or the ramp can be outfitted with an optional screen room to provide extra living area. An interior wall that separates cargo and living areas is another available option.
