May Day- The Kickoff to A Lot of Great May Festivals

Today is officially May Day, a holiday celebrated on May 1 by some. It is an ancient northern hemisphere spring festival and a traditional spring holiday in many cultures. Dances, singing, and cake are usually part of the festivities.

Today is also the start of an action-packed month with all kinds of May festivals and events scheduled across the country. The Midwest Independent Film Festival, Chicago, Illinois showcases independent films every first Tuesday of the month in Chicago. 38th Annual Mushroom Festival, May 3-5, 2018, Richmond, Missouri. This festival attracts hundreds of people to downtown Richmond.
